This guitar is a wonderful recreation of the classic 000-28 models that are so highly regarded, but with a few of Collings signature twists to put their fingerprint of power and clarity on this model. A guitar this small shouldn’t be able to sound this big! The classic 12-fret 000 take on construction designed to produce a strong fundamental response and open feel, with rounder highs and resonant lows when compared to the more square shoulder design. The combination of an open slotted peghead, shorter 24 7/8″ scale length, with a longer upper bout than its 14-fret counterpart offers rich and balanced tone with excellent note separation, making it a fine choice for fingerstyle guitarists, singer-songwriters, or anyone else looking for a balance of comfort, volume, and responsiveness. It also makes a pretty dang good flatpicking guitar if I do say so myself. The German spruce and rosewood pair nicely, featuring a rounder high end and fuller low midrange.
