Jean-Luc Jamet is a celebrated Northern Rhone grower based in Ampuis, who established his own domaine in 2013 after years working the family vineyards. Valine is his Syrah from the Collines Rhodaniennes, drawn from a vineyard set on schistous soils on the slopes above Ampuis, just beyond the bounds of the Cote-Rotie appellation.Made entirely from Syrah, it offers a lifted, intense nose of violet, blue and black fruits, gentle spice and a savoury hint of smoked bacon that is the hallmark of fine Northern Rhone Syrah. The palate is supple and charming, full of juicy ripe cherry, making it a delicious wine to enjoy in its youth.Serve at a cool room temperature with grilled meats, roast pork, charcuterie or peppered dishes.
