This single origin bar is made with Criollo Esmeraldeño cacao from the Cayapas River basin in Esmeraldas, northwest Ecuador. A natural hybrid of ancient Nacional and Criollo varieties, these cacao trees grow in one of the most remote and pristine areas — accessible only by canoe. This isolation has helped preserve the exceptional native character of the beans. Carefully roasted and ground with organic cane sugar, the 70% chocolate reveals a complex and layered profile: violet floral notes, gentle hazelnut, and slight hint of ripe blackberry.
