Traditionally tied to jazz, brushes are pushed here into a new space, designed for modern production across hip hop, soul, R&B, funk, and beyond. Recorded To Tape, Played With Intention Everything was tracked using a vintage 70s Japanese drum kit alongside a modern Ludwig kit, with a rotation of classic Slingerland, Ludwig, and Pearl snares. The cymbals include 50s Zildjian A hats and rare vintage Italian hats for a soft but detailed top end. All sounds ran through a tape machine and vintage microphones, played quietly so the tone of the drums, mics, and preamps fully comes through.
