Cillar de Silos Ribera del Duero Rosado 2025
Believe it or not, Ribera del Duero was best known for rosé 400 years ago. How times have changed - but there are nods to this history with this wine. Back in the day, Ribera wines were deep coloured and tannic. So Tempranillo vineyards were planted with a white grape called Albillo, which was then blended into the reds, to soften them up. There’s around 15% of Albillo in this rosé, which not only lightens the colour, but gives a gorgeous citrusy flavour to the wild strawberries and herbs of the Tempranillo. This is an amazing food wine so be sure to have a few in the fridge for your next barbecue - and unlike 99.9% of rosés this will last well into 2028 and beyond.
