Mani RT Files are stainless steel hand files purpose built for cleaning and shaping curved root canals where standard K-File geometry struggles. Manufactured in Japan by Mani Inc., the RT in the name refers to the file's defining feature: an original rectangle cross section that produces sharper cutting edges and greater flexibility than the square geometry of conventional K-Files. The result is a hand file that delivers approximately 1.5 times the cutting force of a comparable K-File at a 71 degree cutting angle, significantly steeper than the 45 degrees typical of standard files. The rectangular cross section reduces the bending torque required to navigate canal curvatures, allowing the file to follow the natural canal path rather than straightening it through transportation. Clinically this matters most in the apical third of curved molars, where ledging and canal transportation from overly stiff instruments are the most common iatrogenic complications. Available in 21mm and 25mm working lengths, RT Files use the ISO 0.02 standard taper so they integrate cleanly into any existing hand filing or hybrid hand-rotary protocol. Crafted from Mani's proprietary 18-8 hard-fiber stainless steel, RT Files deliver a mirror-finished cutting surface that resists corrosion across repeated autoclave cycles and a documented fracture resistance higher than standard K-File geometry under equivalent torsional load.
