Seal masonry before you topcoat — Sanitile 100 Block Filler does it right the first time. Sanitile 100 is Carboline's heavy-duty waterborne acrylic block filler, purpose-built for filling and sealing concrete masonry unit (CMU) surfaces, concrete block, and poured concrete in both aggressive and mild environments. Single component, low odor, and ready to apply as supplied — no mixing ratio, no pot life pressure, no special solvents. Topcoat with acrylics, epoxies, or polyesters, depending on your service requirements. Where it's used: Food and Beverage Facilities — USDA approved for use in inspected facilities; ideal base coat for food-grade wall systems in processing plants, breweries, and dairies Wastewater Treatment Plants — Fills and seals CMU and concrete exposed to mild chemical and atmospheric corrosion prior to high-performance topcoats Commercial and Industrial Buildings — Gymnasium, warehouse, and parking structure walls requiring a smooth, pinhole-free base prior to finish coats LEED-Certified Projects — Qualifies as a block filler (not classified as a thin-film paint) for LEED projects requiring low-VOC primers or finishes Institutional Construction — Schools, hospitals, and government facilities where SCAQMD-compliant low-VOC products are specified Key specs (per Carboline PDS, August 2025): Solids by volume: 54% ± 2% DFT: 5–16 mils per coat · second coat may be required on high-porosity surfaces Coverage @ 5 mils: 173 ft²/gal theoretical · Coverage @ 16 mils: 54 ft²/gal theoretical VOC: 0.4 lbs/gal (50 g/l) — SCAQMD compliant (<100 g/l) Single component — no mix ratio, no pot life, ready to use as supplied Thinning: up to 6 oz/gal potable water for spray only (not normally required) Dry to touch: 30 min @ 75°F · Recoat with itself: 60 min · Recoat water-base topcoat: 18 hrs · Recoat solvent-base topcoat: 48 hrs Dry temp. resistance: 170°F continuous · 200°F non-continuous USDA approved · SCAQMD compliant · LEED block filler applicable Not for floors or immersion service Important before you apply: New masonry and stucco must cure a minimum of 3 days before application; poured-in-place concrete requires 7 days minimum. If the surface pH is above 9, prime with Sanitile 120 before applying Sanitile 100. Do not apply to damp, wet, or frozen surfaces, and do not apply if temperatures will drop below 35°F within 24 hours of application. Backrolling is required immediately behind all spray applications to ensure adequate filling of surface irregularities. Store indoors and keep from freezing. Available in 5-gallon containers.
