Ember Tide Batik Dress

This one features a glowing flame-like wave pattern, with dotted trails, and tiny scattered stars across a rich crimson red background with magenta, plum, and soft lavender accents. The flowing batik design wraps around the lower hemline. I drew out a wave pattern and individually painted each brushstroke to create a feeling of motion and light. This flattering sleeveless twist-front design creates an easy feminine shape while the lightweight cotton knit drapes beautifully and feels comfortable for warm days, travel, festivals, or layering year round. Each dress is individually hand dyed and painted by yours truly, Victoria Batikwalla on the Oregon Coast, USA using traditional batik techniques with hot beeswax and layered dye baths. This one I painted off camera, and did the dyes as part of my online batik workshop, The Art of Creative Batik.
