RENE GROEBLI - WERKVERZEICHNIS
After various monothematic publications, we present an overview of Groebli's photographic oeuvre, with the publication of the Werkverzeichnis/catalogue raisonné by Swiss photographer René Groebli (born 1927), selected by the artist himself. From his early works on “farm-duty" or on the road with the steam locomotive from Paris to Basel in 1949 to his later, innovative colour photographs or nudes taken in 2001/2002, the 250-page illustrated book shows over 1200 images, including many previously unpublished images. This detailed overview shows the unbridled artistic creativity and the insatiable will to experiment by the photographer for the first time in a large photo-book. With an essay by Hans-Michael Koetzle and a compendium on the working methods as well as an overview of previous publications and exhibitions.
