PARRYING SHIELD MEDIUM WIDE - DHULIN GOANNA DESIGN

Parrying Shield Medium Wide featuring Dhulin the Goanna—a hand-crafted Australian Red Cedar artwork inspired by traditional malgarr shields used in combat alongside liyangayil (fighting clubs). Dhulin the Goanna is one of the six special men who helped Bunjil the Wedge Tailed Eagle - our Creator - when he created the Earth. Bunjil taught all the special men how to look after his creations - the mountains and the rivers, man, woman and all the animals. He taught them how to make weapons, how to fight with them, and how to behave with one another. After Bunjil had finished, Bellin Bellin the Musk Crow blew Dhulin and the other special men to the stars. This design draws from authentic South East Australian cultural symbols, created by Mick Harding - an Indigenous artist committed to preserving traditional knowledge through contemporary craft. Handmade in Australia. Measurements: 700mm L × 155mm W × 20mm Deep (approximate). Includes wall-mounted hanger and cultural information card detailing the artist, artwork, and design story.
