Battery Replacement Rotate the base of the light counter-clockwise. Insert a tool e.g. needle-nose pliers, into the two home and turn the inner red ring clockwise. Replace the batteries and align the threads of the ring with the openings on the base of the light. Press the ring down and using a tool rotate the right counter-clockwise. For best results, use new batteries of the same brand and voltage. If the lantern will be stored for an extended period, remove the batteries and store the light in a dry, protected place.
