Architects' Houses

When architects design their own homes, they often use the freedom to test ideas and put their theories into practice. Dominic Bradbury gathers 200 such houses from the mid-20th century to the present, by architects ranging from Frank Lloyd Wright, Lina Bo Bardi and Charles Correa to Deborah Berke, Bjarke Ingels and Omar Gandhi.Arranged alphabetically, each house is shown in exterior and interior photographs with a short text on how the architect acted as client. A foreword by Francine Houben and an illustrated chronology at the back complete the book. Hardback, 310 by 230 mm, 352 pages.
