The latest CD supplementing the official discography of The Shadows – Let Me Be The One – features rare and very rare recordings by the group from 1973–1975. The set opens with an excellent half-hour programme recorded in 1973 for BBC radio. The material is supplemented by an alternate version of Apache, also taken from the 1973 radio sessions. The CD also includes a substantial part of the band’s concert at the New Theatre in Southport on 17 May 1975. It appears to be the best-preserved live material by The Shadows from this period – apart, of course, from the officially released concerts from the Paris Olympia. Also of special interest are three recordings from the 1974 TV programme Cilla, including a performance of Dance On! together with the show’s host. The collection is completed by a live version of Let Me Be The Onefrom the Eurovision Song Contest, featuring Bruce Welch’s famous mistake in the second phrase of the song – a moment which, with hindsight, gives this performance even more charm. The entire collection has been very carefully remastered, with the archival recordings also speed-corrected. Released in a laminated fold-out card sleeve with a special inner sleeve for the disc. Over 75 minutes of music, more than half of it in absolutely perfect sound quality. BELOW IS A SHORT VIDEO PRESENTING THE PUBLICATION:
