A vibrant expression of contemporary horology and artistic imagination, the M.A.D.1S “Grow Your Dreams” Water Edition represents a distinctive collaboration between MB&F’s M.A.D.Editions and British-Nigerian multidisciplinary artist Yinka Ilori. Limited to just 400 pieces worldwide, this exceptional creation combines unconventional mechanical engineering with Ilori’s signature exploration of colour, optimism and creativity. Housed within a 42mm stainless steel 316L case measuring 15mm in thickness, the Water Edition features a striking blue titanium rotor positioned prominently above the movement, creating a captivating kinetic display. A vivid green HyCeram bezel accent contrasts beautifully with the blue architecture, while the unconventional lateral time display uses a rotating hour cylinder with Super-LumiNova numerals. Powering this mechanical spectacle is the Swiss-made Manufacture La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), incorporating 24 jewels and delivering an impressive 68-hour power reserve. Its unidirectional winding system is complemented by the signature titanium rotor with luminous accents. Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, alongside mineral glass, protects the distinctive construction, while water resistance is rated at 30 metres. Completing the design is a textured rubber strap featuring Ilori’s characteristic leaf-inspired pattern, symbolising growth and ambition. Originally supplied with contrasting blue straps and an interchangeable white strap, the Water Edition offers a playful yet sophisticated interpretation of contemporary independent watchmaking.
