General Purpose Vinyl Ester Resin | 20KG BRISBANE ONLY
K1017MV Vinyl Ester Resin – Premium Laminating Resin High-Performance Vinyl Ester Resin for Marine, Industrial & Composite Applications K1017MV is a premium vinyl ester laminating resin designed for applications requiring excellent chemical resistance, mechanical strength and long-term durability. Combining the processing characteristics of polyester resin with the enhanced performance of vinyl ester technology, K1017MV is an excellent choice for fibreglass laminating, boat building, chemical-resistant tanks, pipework and demanding composite fabrication. Its low-to-medium viscosity allows excellent fibreglass wet-out and straightforward application using conventional hand lay-up and spray-up techniques. Key Features & Benefits Excellent Chemical Resistance – Suitable for demanding environments exposed to chemicals, moisture and corrosive conditions. High Mechanical Strength – Produces strong, durable fibreglass laminates. 250–450 cP Viscosity – Promotes effective fibreglass wet-out and resin distribution. 15–25 Minute Gel Time – Typical gel time at 25°C using 2% Andonox LCR-S catalyst. Excellent Laminating Properties – Suitable for hand lay-up and appropriately configured spray-up processes. Versatile Applications – Suitable for marine, industrial and general composite manufacturing. Typical Applications Boat building and marine fibreglass repairs Chemical-resistant tanks and containment equipment Industrial pipework and fibreglass structures Automotive and transport composites Swimming pool and water-related fibreglass structures General composite manufacturing and moulding Technical Specifications Property Typical Value Product K1017MV Resin Type Vinyl Ester Resin Appearance Liquid resin Viscosity @ 25°C 250–450 cP Specific Gravity 1.03–1.10 Styrene Content 42–45% Gel Time @ 25°C 15–25 minutes Catalyst Used for Gel Test 2% Andonox LCR-S Application Methods Hand Lay-Up / Spray-Up Values are typical and may vary with temperature, catalyst selection, catalyst concentration and processing conditions. Catalyst & Curing K1017MV requires a compatible methyl ethyl ketone peroxide (MEKP) catalyst to initiate curing. The gel-time figure above is based on testing with 2% Andonox LCR-S at 25°C. Actual working and curing times will depend on ambient temperature, laminate thickness and catalyst conditions. Always follow the current technical data sheet and safety data sheet when selecting catalyst type and dosage. Why Choose K1017MV? When conventional polyester resins are not sufficient for demanding chemical, marine or industrial applications, K1017MV offers an enhanced-performance alternative. Its combination of chemical resistance, mechanical performance and practical laminating characteristics makes it a versatile choice for professional fibreglass fabricators and industrial manufacturers.
