The aNueNue Koa Bird Concert sits in the middle of the flagship 3K Bird series, built around Japanese luthier Mitsuta Morihiko's Mount Fuji-voiced X-bracing and carved from Selected 4A Hawaiian Koa with figuring that looks almost three-dimensional. Rosewood binding wraps the sides and onto the top in the Bird series' signature moon-curve purfling, and the classic ebony headstock carries a mother-of-pearl aNueNue logo. The spalted maple soundhole rosette and moon-phase fretboard inlays are a signature touch, backed by an ebony bridge and fingerboard, buffalo bone nut and saddle, and Gotoh's UPT planetary geared tuners. The cutaway opens up the top frets without giving up any of the concert body's projection. World of Ukes called the tone "astonishingly deep and rich," with "crisp, clear highs ringing out against a warm background" and sustain that "will probably still be singing when you put it back in the case."
