Fusion

Fusion is a photographic exploration of Kuala Lumpur’s urban life by Malaysian photographer Sinsee Ho, where glass, reflections, movement, and layers of the city come together to create images that sit somewhere between observation and abstraction. The book grows from two earlier bodies of work: Becoming Memories, exhibited in Kuala Lumpur in 2023, and Urban Poetry, which received the Photo Creator of the Year award at the Kuala Lumpur Photography Festival in 2023. Both series share an interest in glass and the changing visual landscape of the city, eventually coming together in Fusion. Rather than presenting Kuala Lumpur through a single narrative, the work looks for the quieter poetry hidden within the ordinary. Reflections overlap with architecture, people merge with their surroundings, and familiar urban scenes become fragmented into layers of colour, texture, and light. There is also something deeply contemporary in this way of seeing. Like the city itself, we exist in layers, carrying different experiences, identities, memories, and perspectives at the same time.
