Product description A small dongle that you plug into your TV's HDMI port to turn it into a smart TV. It works with virtually any television, monitor or projector with HDMI, including a ten-year-old device. For a TV without apps, or with apps that are no longer supported: Two reasons to buy this. Your TV has no streaming apps, or it does have them but the software has become slow and the app you want to use is no longer available. In both cases, you replace the software instead of the television. The apps are already installed: Netflix, YouTube, Videoland, NPO Start, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, NLZIET, Ziggo GO, KPN TV+, Viaplay, ESPN, Apple TV, Twitch, Spotify and the Google Play Store. Log in with your own account and start watching. For paid services, you will of course need your own subscription. You choose how it looks: During installation, you can choose from several interfaces, including Google TV, Android TV and Apple TV styles. If you do not like the layout, choose another one instead of getting used to it. Remote control with voice button: Search by speaking instead of selecting a title letter by letter. Otherwise, it has the buttons you expect: home, back, volume, mute, and separate buttons for YouTube and Netflix. Cast from your phone or laptop: Miracast, DLNA and AirPlay are supported, so you can put photos, videos or a presentation on the big screen in no time. Dutch software, with remote updates: The software is managed by Xedor itself. This means that problems and improvements can be addressed through an update without you having to do anything. Have you run into an issue or are you missing something? Email us at info@xedor.com. Where possible, we will include it in a future update. Fast enough to stay out of the way: WiFi 6 with dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. 5 GHz is faster when you are close to the router; 2.4 GHz reaches farther. The dongle chooses automatically. Ready in a few minutes: Plug it into the HDMI port, connect the power cable, select the correct HDMI input, pair the remote by holding OK and volume down until the light flashes, connect to WiFi and you are ready. Technical specifications Operating system: Android 12. Chipset: Allwinner H618, quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 with Mali-G31 graphics. RAM: 2 GB. Internal storage: 16 GB eMMC. Video output: HDMI 2.0, 4K. WiFi: dual-band 2.4 and 5 GHz, WiFi 6. Bluetooth: yes, for the remote control and accessories such as headphones or a game controller. Casting: Miracast, DLNA and AirPlay. Power: USB-C, 5V 2A. In the box: the dongle, the remote control, two AAA batteries, a USB-A to USB-C power cable and a manual. Honest about picture quality The dongle outputs 4K via HDMI 2.0, and YouTube really does play in up to 4K. The other streaming services play in up to 1440p: sharper than Full HD, but not 4K. This is not due to the hardware but to the copy protection used by Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video: they only enable 4K on devices that have been separately certified for it. We mention this because it is better to know now than after unpacking. Availability and picture quality also depend on the app, your subscription, your internet connection and your region.
