Heuchera 'Obsidian'
Heuchera 'Obsidian' – Coral Bells Grown for its foliage: rounded, lobed, glossy leaves that open reddish-black in spring and darken to near-black as they mature, forming a compact mound about 25 cm high. In late spring and summer, slender dark red stems carry small creamy white flowers well above the leaves. Plant in sun or part shade in fertile, moist but well-drained soil; it will take more shade where the soil stays moist. The near-black leaves work as a dark foil at the front of a border, in containers or as edging. It is semi-evergreen, keeping much of its foliage through winter. An introduction from Terra Nova Nurseries in Oregon. It holds the RHS Award of Garden Merit. Mature height: 25 cm (to 40 cm in flower) Mature width: 40 cm Light needs: Full sun to part shade
