Coral Fossil, Newb Collection

This pendant features a natural coral fossil wrapped in copper wire and grass. The fossil measures approximately 1.5 x 1.5 in length. The pendant is one of a kind due to the natural variation in the fossil. Fossil coral forms when the original structure of coral is gradually replaced by minerals during the fossilization process. The replacement preserves the detailed structure of the coral, including the individual corallite patterns that can often be seen on the surface of the fossil.
