The Blonde 2024

Sourced from the two acre ‘Riebke Old’ block planted 1893 (Ancestor Vine) at Ebenezer in the Northern part of the Barossa Valley GI. The Shiraz (at 320m elevation) vines run east-west on a light gradient protected from the afternoon sun. The soils here are wind-blown white/yellow beach sand over sandstone, fossilised limestone and deep fine orange to red clays. The fruit profile is highly distinctive (blue & stone fruits with immense textural weight) and always looks like a complete wine compared to other parcels we work with. We don’t use the stems in the ferment as they do not improve the wine. Here we use the finest French oak at 25% new with 1, 2 & 3 year old oak to encourage harmony & balance in the already innately powerful wine.
