Candy Girl
Candy Girl is a lost 1975 session by jazz pianist Mal Waldron, recorded in Paris with the Lafayette Afro Rock Band. After a decade in self-imposed exile, Waldron fused his minimalist electric jazz with the band's funk grooves, creating raw, unfiltered instrumental music with an experimental edge. Originally released in tiny quantities on the Calumet label, this rare collaboration captures Waldron as bandleader and explorer in mid-70s Paris. Features remastered audio and new liner notes by Francis Gooding, with packaging that honours the obscure original release.
