Cup Lids for USGI Canteen Cups
At Forest Fundamentals, we have long used the classic British Army issue canteens. Much like their American counterparts, finding the correct lids has always been a challenge, which led us to design our own. Following the success of our custom lids for the British Army canteens, we decided to design a lid specifically for the official USGI cup for all our American customers. The Materials: The lids are stamped from 304 Stainless Steel, highly resistant to heat and corrosion. Unlike aluminium or copper, it also doesn't leach chemicals or react with food. Manufacturing: After stamping, we laser-engrave the logos to ensure they won't fade with repeated use. The lids are then deburred and brushed to remove sharp edges and create a clean, textured finish. Benefits of the Lids: The advantages of lids are pretty clear! Lids help conserve all types of fuel and significantly cut down boil times. Spending ages waiting for your coffee to boil in the morning, or your meal to heat up after a long day's hike, is never ideal. The Folding D-Ring Handle: The handle makes it easy to lift the lid when hot. We've increased the size of the handles for better grip when wearing gloves. Over an open fire, the opening is also wide enough to use a stick or the end of a knife to safely lift the lid and check on the cup's contents. Size Information: These lids are specifically designed to fit the official U.S. Military Issue (USGI) Canteen Cup. We don't guarantee compatibility with civilian reproductions or other canteen cup models. Disclaimers: This product is designed, developed, and manufactured by Forest Fundamentals, a British outdoor brand. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the U.S. Military or any associated brands. Quick Note: In the photos, there are no air vent holes. At the time of shooting, the lids did not have air vent holes. These have now been added to the lids. Please see the white background photos for reference.
