Antique French Louis XVI Painted Armoire Size high 172cm wide 76cm deep 40cm A truly beautiful and wonderfully decorative antique French Louis XVI-style armoire, full of authentic French character and timeworn charm. Finished in a softly aged cream, this elegant cabinet features exquisite classical detailing throughout. The decorative cornice is crowned with a beautiful carved ribbon and bow crest, while the lower panel features an ornate raised floral garland suspended from ribbon motifs. The large single door retains its traditional wire-mesh front, opening to reveal generous shelving, some charmingly lined with vintage-style floral paper. Delicate carved mouldings frame the cabinet, complemented by pretty floral corner details and small turned feet. The naturally distressed painted finish, with areas of rubbing, chipping and age-related wear, gives this piece the wonderful patina we love in genuine antique French furniture.
