Tatomer SLO Coast Pinot Noir
The addition of a gorgeous, overperforming line-up of Pinot Noirs has brought welcome diversity to the already impressive array of Riesling and Grüner Veltliner wines for which Graham Tatomer is rightly revered. The San Luis Obispo Coast (SLO) Pinot Noir 2023 marks Graham’s first iteration of this new cuvée - and what a debut it is. The fruit is sourced from Greengate Vineyard, just five miles from the coast. Pure and vivid, with crunchy red fruit, subtle herbal hints, and a bright, silky palate, this Pinot Noir beautifully captures the cooling marine influence that makes this increasingly popular AVA so special. 92/100 - Sourced from Greengate Vineyard, the 2023 Pinot Noir San Luis Obispo Coast is one of the most overperforming Pinot Noirs I have tasted from the Central Coast. The nose is beamingly pure, red-fruited and lifted by herbal floral touches. The palate offers a degree of silky precision and textural depth nearly unmatched at such an introductory level, concluding with a savory, lifted and charming finish. - Matthew Luczy, The Wine Advocate 93/100 - Elegant and supple with low extraction, allowing the floral, herbal and earthy notes to shine through transparent cherries and wild strawberries. A framing of saline minerality provides savory posture throughout. Drink or hold. - James Suckling
