Reserva de la Familia is a limited-edition Guatemalan specialty coffee produced by Ellen Prentice at Finca de Dios, our founder's family farm in Fraijanes, Guatemala. Made entirely from the Bourbon coffee variety and grown at 1,750 meters, this special lot begins with coffee cherries carefully handpicked at peak ripeness. During harvest, exceptional cherries are selected and separated from the rest of the farm's coffee specifically to create Reserva de la Familia. Produced in limited quantities, it's a coffee that showcases the sweetness, clarity, and quality that careful selection can bring to the cup. What makes Reserva de la Familia special? It begins with selection. Only carefully selected, fully ripe coffee cherries are chosen for this limited lot. After harvest, the coffee is fully washed, creating a clean cup that allows the natural sweetness and fruit characteristics of the Bourbon variety to shine. The beans are then slowly sun-dried on raised beds, allowing for a careful and even drying process that helps preserve the quality developed on the farm. Ellen Prentice, an agronomist and specialty coffee producer, has managed Finca de Dios for more than 10 years with a focus on quality throughout cultivation, harvest, and processing.
