This pocket digital scale reads down to 0.001g, a single milligram, which is one two-hundredth of a carat. That is fine enough to weigh one small faceted stone or a lot of tiny melee accurately. It takes up to 50g (250ct), so it covers almost any loose gemstone, cabochon or small crystal. The 58x58mm stainless steel pan sits next to an orange backlit display that stays easy to read in dim light, with three buttons for power, units and tare. In the box you get a pair of tweezers for handling small stones and a 50g calibration weight, so you can check and recalibrate the scale at home. The weight has its own slot in the base. The hinged lid closes over the pan to protect it in a drawer or bag, and the operating and calibration steps are printed on the inside of the lid.
