Nandina ‘Fire Power’ is all about colour — a compact, evergreen shrub that quietly glows for most of the year, then turns up the drama as temperatures drop. In autumn and winter, the foliage often shifts into fiery reds and warm tones, giving pots and borders that “something’s happening” feeling when many plants are winding down. Because it stays neat and bushy, it’s ideal for containers by the door, small front gardens, gravel planting, or the front edge of a mixed border where you want year-round structure without constant clipping. It’s also useful for repeating in groups to create a rhythm of colour through a planting scheme. Give it a sunny to lightly shaded, sheltered spot for the best colour. It’s hardy and adaptable to most soils, and once settled it’s very low maintenance — just keep it watered in its first season, and in pots don’t let it dry out completely during summer.
