Ludwig 4x14" Downbeat Snare Drum - 1960s Black Oyster Pearl

A rare and desirable vintage Ludwig 4x14" Downbeat model snare drum from 1963, featuring the iconic Beatles & Ringo Star color Black Oyster Pearl. All original except for replacement Puresound snare wires, with some spots of rust on the hardware but in overall very wonderful condition for a snare of its age. Three-ply shell with white interior, eight lugs, baseball-bat muffler, piccolo strainer, and triple-flanged COB hoops. Highly collectable and unmatched 60's tone, not to mention a rare piece in fantastic condition! "The "Downbeat" offers all the advantages of the narrow shell plus the added volume and tone of a 14" diameter head. Eight self-aligning tension casings are horizontally mounted for proper head clearance. The original triple-flanged hoops and "Pioneer" throw-off are added quality features. This model is ideal for the traveling artist where space is a problem."
