Australian Magpie Fabric Kit

Capture one of Australia's most iconic birds in fabric. This kit includes: Most of the fabric needed to complete the Australian Magpie quilt top (beautifully coloured cotton fabric in 10 colours, 90cm iron-on interfacing). You'll need to select whether you want a kit with or without the background (or sky) fabric. I've done this, as I know that many of you will want to choose your own fabric for that, while still finding it helpful to have a kit containing the bird colours. Does not include background fabric, batting, backing fabric, binding or pattern. About 'Australian Magpie' This quilt pattern captures that moment as the bird lifts into the air, wings fully outstretched. Designed from my original drawings, the pattern combines bold graphic shapes with carefully considered detail to create a striking piece of textile art for your home. Creating the movement of the wings and keeping the design true to my artistic style while at the same tame making it a fun project for you to make took many rounds of refinement. The result is one of my most rewarding quilt patterns to date. Whether you're creating it for your own home or as a gift, you'll finish with a quilt that feels more like a piece of art than a traditional quilt. The kit provides all the fabric needed for the quilt top only. Additional materials such as backing fabric, batting, and binding will need to be sourced separately. What You Will Need: ✂ Sewing machine (or a needle for hand-stitching) ✂ Iron and ironing board (MUST be able to adhere iron-on interfacing to fabric) ✂ Sewing thread (neutral for piecing) ✂ Batting and backing fabric ✂ Basic sewing tools: Fabric & paper scissors, clear sticky tape, thread snippers (if available), pins, safety pins for basting, and a 2B or 4B pencil.
