260mm Knauf FactoryClad Roll 40 (Uncut) 3.7m x 1.2m - 4.44m2 per roll

Brand: Knauf

260mm Knauf FactoryClad Roll 40 is a glass mineral wool insulation roll for built-up metal roof and wall systems, and at this depth the volume of material going into each square metre becomes part of the conversation. A quilt this thick uses considerably more raw material than a slim one, so what the material is made from and what happens to it afterwards carry proportionally more weight than they do at the shallow end of the range. Each roll measures 3.70m by 1200mm and covers 4.44m², with 24 rolls to a pallet giving 106.56m². Declared thermal conductivity is 0.040 W/mK, producing a thermal resistance of 6.50 m²K/W, and water vapour resistivity is 5.00 MNs/g.m. Embodied carbon is published at 2.25 kgCO₂e/m² across stages A1 to A3 and 2.98 kgCO₂e/m² across A1 to C4, the latter running through to end of life rather than stopping at the factory gate. The material itself answers the question reasonably well. Knauf's glass mineral wool is made with up to 80% recycled content, including glass recovered from windows, bottles and jars. It contains no ozone-depleting substances or greenhouse gases. The rolls and the pallets they travel on are wrapped in low-density polyethylene, LDPE4, which is made from 30 to 50% recycled plastic depending on the supplier and is fully recyclable, so the packaging can go into segregated site waste rather than general skip waste. Knauf's environmental reporting is published in the product's Environmental Product Declaration, produced in accordance with ISO 14025:2023, ISO 21930:2017 and EN 15804+A2:2019, and there is a BREEAM helpsheet available for the glass mineral wool. On installation, the sequence does not change: liner sheet fixed, quilt laid over it, spacer system brought up to take the quilt into the cavity, outer profiled sheet fixed last, to Knauf Insulation's guidance and the cladding system manufacturer's details. What does change at 260mm is that you are beyond the depth most standard rail and bracket systems accommodate as a catalogue item, so the cladding system supplier should be engaged before the order is placed rather than after. Knauf's own Technical Services Team will advise on the build-up and produce the U-value calculation for it, and they ask to be contacted where a system's performance depends on characteristics beyond those declared on the Declaration of Performance, because the warranty position rests on that. The depth suits large envelopes being built to a stretch low-energy target, and on farms it appears on new units where both embodied and operational carbon are being counted as part of a wider audit or funded scheme. Key Benefits of Knauf FactoryClad Roll 40: Thermal resistance of 6.50 m²K/W at 260mm. Declared thermal conductivity of 0.040 W/mK. Euroclass A1 reaction to fire, non-combustible to BS EN 13501-1. 4.44m² per roll, and 106.56m² per pallet across 24 rolls. Made with up to 80% recycled content, including recovered window and container glass. Contains no ozone-depleting substances or greenhouse gases. Supplied in LDPE4 polythene of 30 to 50% recycled content, fully recyclable. Embodied carbon published through to end of life at 2.98 kgCO₂e/m² for stages A1 to C4. Environmental Product Declaration published to ISO 14025:2023, ISO 21930:2017 and EN 15804+A2:2019. 1200mm roll width to suit rail and bracket spacer systems. Bound with ECOSE® Technology, with no added formaldehyde or phenol. Good to know: Past standard bracket depths: 260mm is beyond what most spacer systems carry as a catalogue item, so involve the cladding system supplier before ordering rather than afterwards. The packaging is recyclable: the LDPE4 wrap can be segregated on site instead of going to general waste, which is worth setting up if the job has a site waste plan. Figures are published to end of life: the A1 to C4 embodied carbon figure covers the whole life cycle, not just manufacture, so quote the right stage boundary when reporting. Available in the 40 grade only, as Roll 35 stops at 220mm. The 40 denotes a declared conductivity of 0.040 W/mK, not a thickness. Supplied uncut at 3.70m per roll and unfaced on both faces. Non-hygroscopic, but not moisture resistant. Keep it dry and covered, and discard any roll that has taken water. At 260mm you are buying depth and a good deal of material with it, and both the recycled content and the published whole-life figures stand up to being asked about.
