Everything is provided — the hide, the tools, the thread, the lot. Ten seats only, so I get to everyone. How the day goes The hide — what leather actually is, how it is made, and why full grain behaves differently to everything else on the shelf. The tools — every tool on the bench, what it does, and the handful you actually need to start at home. Cutting — choosing your piece of hide, marking the pattern, and the first cut. The saddle stitch — two needles, locked. The stitch that will not unravel even if you cut it. Edges and finish — bevelling, sanding and burnishing. The work nobody sees and everybody feels. Branding and pricing — how to finish to a professional standard, and how to think about selling if you want to go further.
