Costa Rica Hacienda Sonora

The Farm Hacienda Sonora operates around a hundred hectares of land on the slopes of the Poas Volcano in central Costa Rica. On the farm, coffee plants are surrounded by exotic trees, and strong local biodiversity promotes nutrient-rich healthy soil which is ideal for growing the premium crop that the farm offers to the market. Only fourty-five hectares are devoted to coffee plants, twenty to sugarcane production and the remaining thirty-five has been set aside as a wild forest reserve. The farm operates entirely on renewable energy from their hydroelectric generator which transforms their river into energy for production.
