Ardbeg 1974 26 Year Old by Silver Seal Pure Islay Malt Whisky
50% abv 70 cl This is a highly coveted, ultra-rare single cask Islay malt scotch whisky. Distilled during Ardbeg's legendary 1974 vintage, it was aged for 26 years before being selected and bottled in March 2001 by the prestigious independent bottler, Silver Seal Whisky Company Ltd in their First Bottling series. Only 444 bottles were produced. Tasting Notes Nose: Nutmeg, allspice, lots of mushroom ragout, rarely had such an old bottle when it was bottled in 2001, some cellar, old, damp leather, malt and sherry notes behind it, after the first sip the nose opens up more, salt, earthy Ardbeg peat, milk chocolate, nuts. Taste: Nice dry nut mix, walnut, hazelnut, pine nuts, with Ardbeg peat, mossy, fine salt, some dark chocolate, lots of malt, oak, some iodine and rosemary. Finish: Green walnut, some ginger, malt, oak, iodine, thyme, long. This product is located in the United Kingdom.
