Thompson Bros Glenrothes 19 Year Old Scotch Whisky

Thompson Bros Glenrothes 19 Year Old Scotch Whisky has been matured in a rejuvenated hogshead since 2007 before being bottled in July 2026 with an out-turn of 250 bottles. Nose: Bright and elegant, with aromas of vanilla pod, honeycomb and soft caramel leading the way. Layers of orchard fruits such as ripe pear and golden apple are complemented by citrus zest, toasted coconut and gentle floral notes. Subtle hints of fresh oak, almond and sweet malt develop with time in the glass. Palate: Smooth and well balanced, offering flavours of vanilla cream, lemon curd and baked apples alongside notes of butterscotch and light toffee. The bourbon cask influence brings a delicate sweetness, supported by toasted oak, coconut and a touch of baking spice. The distillate retains a clean, fruity character throughout, with malt sweetness providing structure. Finish: Medium to long, with lingering vanilla, gentle oak spice and soft citrus oils. Fading notes of honey, toasted almonds and sweet barley leave a refined and well integrated conclusion.
