Some of our favourite Violas from the past few years was the Nature Mulberry & Antique Shades but devastatingly both have been discontinued by the breeder. We were lucky enough to be able to bring back seed from Green & Gorgeous flower farm in the UK of their saved seed from these varieties, and are thrilled to be able to offer them as seedlings. A lovely mix of deep purple and antique pinks and bronze, with delicate Viola form. These plants have already impressed us with their branching form that is begging to get taller - quite unlike the bedding variety pansies we grow by the thousand each year. While not your typical cut flower, we've found you can achieve pickable stem length when you grow in part shade, or under taller growing plants, and plant nice and close together - 10-15cm. Pop them in under your sweet peas or between your roses! Pansies are cold hardy, and the stems will lengthen as the season goes on if you keep harvesting. To give your seedlings the best start in your garden we recommend soaking them in a weak seaweed feed (or one of our "Seedling Shots") before planting. We are proud to be partnering with Sustaina Grow to package our seedlings in a wool wrap that maintains moisture and protects the seedlings in transit. On arrival, take your plants out of the box and give them a good drink of water - you can leave them wrapped in the wool to do this! When you're ready to plant or pot on you can unwrap the seedlings, but they will happily spend a couple of days in their wool blanket before planting. This wool liner makes a wonderful mulch mat that can be used with your seedlings or around any plant in your garden. Everything apart from labels (which we hope you'll use in the garden and time and time again) and stickers are compostable, in an effort to keep our shipping sustainable for the environment.
