Vintage Marine mooring bitt
Vintage Marine mooring bitt Nickle over solid bronze 1940’s-1960’s era Also commonly called a cross bollard, Samson post or post cleat. This is an ultra-heavy-duty mooring bitt, it is very likely a vintage Perko (Perkins Marine Lamp & Hardware Corp.) or Wilcox-Crittenden heavy mooring bitt designed for classic vessels over 50 feet or historical military/tug applications. As found condition, I believe these came off the same vessel. Both have been mounted / used at some point in time. Neither has any damage, no dings or dents, just ocean washed. Should polish up nicely. 6 1/2” tall 7”x7” base x 5 1/6” thick 3 /18” square tower 2 1/4” x 1 3/4” chock hole opening 7” long horizontal pin x 3/4” diameter 9.2 lbs each $195 ea.
