Description The Sunflower Katana is a full-length katana with a Damascus steel blade, black handle wrap, and a red lacquer hardwood saya. The saya has a gold and black speckled pattern under a glossy finish, which gives the sword most of its color from a distance. The mounting uses copper fittings with a dark aged finish. The round tsuba has a radiating flower-like form, with raised cloud and scroll details on the face. The black tsuka-ito sits over pale samegawa, with small metal menuki visible through the wrap. This model is available in two versions: No Clay Temper and Clay Temper. Choose the Clay Temper option if you want the heat-treated version listed under SKU Y-S1032.
