Choose the standard BettaPod if your betta is on sinking food or frozen-only. Does the feeder ring work as a betta hide too? Yes — pop the feeder insert out and it's the same floating hide as the standard BettaPod. The insert just adds the feeder-ring function on top. Does the feeder ring work with frozen or sinking food? The feeder ring is designed for floating pellets and flakes. It won't help with sinking pellets or frozen cubes (those need to thaw and disperse). If you only feed frozen, the standard BettaPod hide will suit you better. Can I use the feeder insert in another tank on its own? Yes. The insert floats independently when removed from the hide, so you can use it as a standalone feeder ring in any tank. Is the BettaPod safe for betta fish? Yes. It's 3D-printed from aquarium-safe PETG with no glue, paint or sharp edges. PETG is the same plastic used in food-grade containers and is inert in freshwater. Does it float or sink? It floats by default. Most betta-keepers want it floating at the surface. If you prefer it anchored lower, fit any standard suction cup to one of the side recesses. Will it fit my Fluval Spec or Flex? Yes — the BettaPod is 80 × 80 × 95 mm and fits Fluval Spec 5/15/19, Fluval Flex 9/15, and most nano tanks 5 litres and up. How do I clean the feeder ring? Rinse the insert in tank water during your weekly water change. Pellets leave very little residue, but a soft aquarium brush handles any buildup. Never use soap or detergent.
