Venetian Rain

An original watercolour titled Venetian Rain inspired by the many sketchbook watercolours painted on location in Venice. I’m very grateful to have able to travel as much as we have to build up such a resource of visual material to literally draw from in my studio. I recall painting a view similar to this, looking towards San Giorgio Maggiore, early one morning in the summer of 1994. The reference I gathered that day was used to paint a watercolour which I published as a limited edition print “St Mark’s Square, Venice”. Venetian Rain has been painted on handmade watercolour paper. It’s been mounted and framed to feature the deckled edge of the paper and has non reflective art glass. It is currently on view at my Studio and Gallery at the Farmhouse, Eland Green farm, Ponteland. The price includes the frame featured.
