The low-yielding vines and well-drained gravel soils produce concentrated, characterful fruit. Aged for 10 months in Hungarian and French oak barrels, this is a serious, cellar-worthy white from a four-generation family farm. Tasting notes Sweet stone fruit aromas of white peach and apricot, with hints of ginger and orange blossom. Rich and mineral on the palate, with a long, smooth finish and a gentle touch of oak. About the winemaker Piet Steenkamp is the fourth generation of his family to farm Groenland, a 190-hectare estate in the Bottelary Hills of Stellenbosch.
