Four stoneware saucers in cream with a transparent glossy glaze, made in Germany.The form is shallow and flat, with a vertical edge rather than a curved rim. At Ø 11.5 cm each piece sits beneath an espresso cup, holds a tea bag, or works as a small dish for olives, salt, or condiments. The proportion follows the Japanese mamezara – the small "bean plate" used for individual servings at the table.Each piece is shaped from stoneware clay and fired at 1220 °C. At that temperature the body vitrifies and becomes food-safe without further sealing. The interior is finished with a single transparent glossy glaze that lets the natural cream tone of the fired clay come through unaltered.
