The Nile Debate Club Online
What is The Nile Debate Club? An online debate club run by Nile Debate. It provides weekly coaching, practice rounds, real-time critiques, and a community for homeschool debaters across Stoa. Why the Nile Debate Club? As we (Mark and Josh) enter our careers, we are choosing to reserve time to pour back into our community. We believe the Lord has blessed us to serve here like the Nile River, which overflows and gives nutrients to all those around it. The skills we developed in Stoa have allowed us to excel beyond debate. Mark has used his skills not just as a collegiate debater but as a software product manager, financial advisor, and editor in chief for The Inheritance Patrick Henry’s theology journal, Josh has moved forward to become a real estate agent and is already in the top 15% nationally, he has given presentations to hundreds of professionals and even had the chance to coach a mayoral candidate through his political campaign. We believe that strong Christians are built in Stoa and are dedicated to seeing that through. Who will coach? Meetings will be led by Nile Coach Mark Roose, supported by a wide team to include NITOC Champions Josh Spivey, Brad Tomasovic, and Ben Copeland, NITOC Finalist Thaddeus Hayes, and Rachel Shipley. Other coaches include NCFCA champ Nathan Chen, powerful LDers like Rylan Wilson and NCFCA champ Wyatt Trull. Students will also have the opportunity to hear guest speakers like former debater now business leader Isaiah McPeak, NC Coach Kris Calhoun, and others. When does it launch? The second week of August. Meetings are Tuesday evenings, held online. What events does it cover? All three. Team Policy, Lincoln-Douglas, and Parliamentary. Who is it for? Debaters of all levels, including first-timers. The club alternates weeks between full-group sessions and breakout sessions split into novice and advanced groups. Whether you are part of a club already or still need one, Nile can complement your current team or serve as your primary one. What's included in membership? - Weekly online meetings with in-depth coaching - Real-time critique of drills and arguments - Practice rounds against other club members - 1AC Feedback and Post-tournament ballot review - Constant resolution content updates and brief support - Coaching across all three debate events - A 10% Discounts on all other Nile products Can The Nile Club serve as a club's primary coaching resource? Yes. Nile coaching is designed to serve as a student's primary coaching model, not just a supplement. What does membership cost? $120 for the fall semester, $150 for the spring semester, or $250 for the full year. Pricing is the same regardless of the event. Are there scholarships? Yes, we don't want finances to be the reason your student does not receive Nile coaching. Reach out, and we would love to work with you to see what we can do: info@niledebate.com
