Vintage Red Moroccan Diamond Rug

Overview: We love this vintage Moroccan rug! While it's technically a low pile rug, it almost feels like a flatweave in certain areas. This is mostly due to its age, where the pile has been worn down with time. The background of this rug features a rich pinkish red color across which diamonds of various sizes appear. The diamond is a common motif in Moroccan weaving, meant to be a talisman to ward off the evil eye. The thought is that if the evil eye were to come calling, it would see the diamond (an abstraction of the evil eye) and get confused and then leave. The edge of this rug is worn down in one small spot (see 8th photo). As a lighter weight rug, this piece would benefit from a rug pad, which would serve to anchor the rug and give it a little extra coziness underfoot!
