Cross Stitch on crochet | Cross Stitch Vest | 3 hour workshop
You need to be able to work single crochet stitches to prepare the homework for this workshop. Step into the wonderful world of cross stitch on crochet! You can either make a sample for a coaster/ granny square or bag, or, prepare your gauge/ design swatch for the Cross Stitch Vest (Ravelry link) by Sara Dudek. In this workshop you will work a sample motif of your choice! Rebecca used flowers from Birthday Botanicals. There is a link for the Rose used in the cross stitch vest pattern. DMC have free cross stitch patterns on the website here, or, you can check out your local library! You will learn how to count and centre your pattern, best practices for stitching, using the sewing vs stabbing method, extending the length of yarn you can use at a time and securing your ends. For those of you making the Cross stitch Vest we will check your gauge (the pattern uses worsted so we will recalculate your gauge to ensure you crochet the right size for you!) Materials required: (not included) Yarn: We recommend Anchor Bay, either solid colours or hand paints. Hook: We recommend a 4mm hook for your sample, this depends on your personal tension. Yarn for stitching: Rebecca used Anchor Bay - we recommend using the same yarn as the fabric, or using a similar thickness. Design for your stitching! Rebecca used flowers from Birthday Botanicals.
