Vintage okimono cast metal sculpture of a crab, modeled with impressive naturalism and commanding presence. The piece features deeply sculpted claws, strong legs, and a richly aged surface displaying attractive verdigris and bronze-toned patination. The metal appears to be a ferrous bronze-like alloy or iron-based casting with a copper-rich finish, as evidenced by the light magnetic attraction and green oxidation.
