Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur Lie, Domaine de la Quilla 2024
Domaine de la Quilla is a family estate in the heart of La Haye-Fouassière, one of Muscadet’s finest villages. Founded in 1948 by Gustave Vinet and now run by his sons, the domaine farms 40 hectares of mature vines planted on complex metamorphic soils north of the Sèvre River. Vineyard work is guided by a deep respect for the land, with natural grass cover maintained between the rows to encourage biodiversity and soil health. In the cellar, the approach is equally patient, with the wines aged on their fine lees for a minimum of eight months in traditional glass-lined underground vats. The result is a range of Muscadets defined by freshness, precision and a strong sense of place. A blend of parcels across La Haye-Fouassière, this is classic Muscadet: bright, precise and wonderfully refreshing. Notes of citrus, green apple and a subtle flinty character lead into a palate driven by crisp acidity and a pronounced mineral core. Clean and energetic, with a long saline finish, it captures everything we love about great Melon de Bourgogne.
