LOW CAF BRAZIL Rio Brilhante 125g
A naturally low caffeine coffee with a rounded profile of apple, hazelnut and milk chocolate. Grown on volcanic soil and processed with care by the Urban family in Minas Gerais. Producer: Urban Family Farm: Rio Brillhante Variety: Aramosa Process: Natural Region: Minas Gerais Elevation: 1000-1150m Harvest: May - July 2024 Caffeine Level: 1.00% (green coffee) Aramosa is a rare hybrid of two coffee species - Coffea arabica and Coffea racemosa. The racemosa species is native to parts of South Eastern Africa, and was purposefully cross-bred with Arabica because of its natural resistance to coffee leaf rust. It typically contains just 0.6–1.0% caffeine by weight, compared to 1.4-1.6% for regular Arabica coffees. This lot comes from the Urban family’s Rio Brilhante farm in Minas Gerais, where over 800 hectares are dedicated to coffee and more than 250 workers are employed across harvest seasons. Cherries are picked and hand-sorted before being fermented aerobically for 36 hours, then dried on patios for 15 days. Grown in mineral-rich volcanic soil at 1000–1150 masl, this Aramosa offers a sweet, gently complex profile with notes of apple, hazelnut and chocolate. A standout coffee in both flavour and function. A gentle, sweet cup—ideal for afternoons, lighter routines or anyone seeking balance in their daily coffee ritual.
