Mystic Mohair

Here are some tips for gauge when working with Mystic Mohair: On its own, mohair yarn typically knits at 5-7 stitches per inch on US 3 to 8 (3.25–5.0mm) needles. This gives you a drapey fabric with a soft bloom. For a lighter weight fabric, knit at 3-4 stitches per inch on US 8 to 10 (5.0-6.0mm) needles. Held together with a fingering weight yarn, they'll work up to the equivalent of a DK weight, around 5–6 stitches per inch. Held together with a worsted weight yarn, they'll work up to the equivalent of a bulky weight, around 3.5–4.5 stitches per inch. Always swatch, and always wash and block your swatch the way you plan to wash and block your finished piece before checking gauge. Mohair blooms significantly when washed.
