Great orators are a rare find, but luckily Hawaiʻi still has "ʻAnakala" Kealoha Kelekolio! Join ʻAnakala as he takes us on a journey through different Hawaiian folklore. He will take us through the battle between Pele and her sister, Nāmakaokahaʻi, he will tell us why the sun slows its rotation every year, and he will delight us with stories of different kupua (demi-gods). These gods, places, and people come back to life through ʻAnakala's storytelling! Ola nā moʻolelo! ABOUT KEALOHA KELEKOLIO Kealoha Kelekolio is a cultural practitioner, storyteller, and performing artist whose work spans theater, dance, and Hawaiian cultural education. A graduate of Kamehameha Schools (Class of 1965), his early artistic influences include educators and cultural leaders who nurtured creativity, storytelling, and the values of kuleana, pono, and aloha. Kealoha has performed extensively with Tau Dance Theater in works including Men Dancing, Poliahu, and Pelehonuamea, with appearances nationwide and at Lincoln Center. He later shared moʻolelo for eight years at Aulani, A Disney Resort. He remains committed to bringing stories to life through performance.
